I offer here a selection from the sights of another successful SXSW in downtown Austin. While it is now just a memory, SunNewsAustin.com will be continuing its detailed reports on the intellectual sessions through the end of March.

A brightly-lit montage at the Marriott hotel.

Stage set at Goodbye Charlies on Red River St.

Me with a Texan-hatted robot in front of the Marriott

The Fire Dept. displayed its fire engine from the 1950s

The Univ. of Cincinnati took over a room at the Hilton to promote its co-op program

There was a vibrant Brazilian vibe at Sao Paulo House

This is why all the events this year were held in hotels and small buildings, some even east of Highway 35. The site of the Austin Convention Centre is now a hole in the ground. Hopefully SWSX will return here in 2029 when its replacement is complete
